Services Covered by Membership of Clinic
- Clinic Hours
Out-patient consultations with GPs during
clinic hours as follows:
Normal Outpatient with GPs:
8.00 - 12.30 and 14.00 - 16.30 hrs Monday
to Thursday
8.30 - 12.30 and 14.00 - 16.30 hrs Friday
9.00 - 13.00 hrs Saturday
Urgent & Emergency Cases:
A doctor is available 24hrs for such cases.
The clinic and hospital is covered by
two doctors for urgent and emergency cases
during the doctor's lunchtime (12.00 -
14.00hrs) and after 16.30hrs. Patients
are asked to attend for routine non-urgent
consultations during the clinic hours
as listed above, and to make
an appointment to avoid any inconvenience.
- Outpatient Consultations
With specialists in surgery, paediatrics,
obstetrics and gynaecology, ENT, dermatology,
orthopaedics, ophthalmology and nutrition
who hold clinics at specified times each
week. A full time Physician/Cardiologist
is available during normal clinic hours.
Patients would always be referred to a
specialist by the GP.
NB: If a specialist is
called to attend a clinic member at any
time other than during a routine clinic
session the fee is charged to the patient.
Audiology is also available, but is not
covered by clinic membership.
- Nursing Procedures
Such as dressing changes, giving of injections
and inoculations, under five's clinic,
etc.
- Pathological Tests
Done in the laboratory, to include all
routine blood, stool and urine tests as
well as some "special" tests
such as thyroid function and INR (blood
thinness). The special tests are done
on a specified day each month, although
can be done on another day if necessary,
in which case the patient would be charged
for the test.
NB: Some special tests are charged routinely.
The laboratory is open 08.00 - 18.00hrs
Monday to Friday, 09.00 - 13.00hrs Saturday
and 09.00 - 11.00hrs Sundays After normal
opening hours a lab technician will be
called by the duty doctor, if it is deemed
necessary, to attend to urgent tests which
cannot wait.
- X-rays
All routine X-rays are covered. For diagnostic
procedures such as barium studies and
IVP, the member will be charged for Radiologist's
fee and the materials used. The X-ray
department is open 08.00 - 18.00hrs Monday
to Friday, 09.00 - 13.00hrs on Saturdays
and 09.00 - 11.00hrs on Sunday. Radiographer
can be called after clinic hours to take
X-rays if deemed necessary by the duty
doctor.
- Ultrasound Scans
Done by the Radiologist and Sonographer.
There are 5 weekly sessions and the duty
doctor can call the Radiologist at any
time for urgent cases. The patient will
be charged for call-outs.
- Physiotherapy
Including all physical therapy treatments.
This treatment is only for cases referred
by a clinic doctor, to a maximum of ten
sessions, after which the patient will
be referred back to the doctor for review.
The department is situated in the Lubu
Road Annexe and is open 08.00 - 12.00hrs,
14.00 - 16.30hrs Monday to Friday.
Appointments may only be made through
the Physiotherapist after a referal is
given by the clinic doctor.
- Electrocardiogram (ECG)
ECG is included in membership. The Treadmill
Test (ECG under stress) and Holter monitoring
(24 hour ambulatory ECG), Ediocardiogram and Colour Doppler are also available
and there is a charge for these tests.
