In conjunction with Speciality Emergency Services (SES) a fully equipped critical care road ambulance is available to clinic members for use in emergencies within Lusaka city, to a range of 10kms from Care For Business. The ambulance can be used for emergency travel outside Lusaka, but in this event a charge would be made by SES.

Calling the ambulance - The ambulance may only be called by the doctor. If a patient needs to be transported by ambulance, he/she should first call cfb and speak to the duty doctor, who will authorise use of the ambulance if he/she deems it necessary.

In cases of simple patient transfers requiring no intensive medical attention, the community ambulance will be used.
  7. 24 Hour Doctor
A doctor is available 24 hours for emergencies, based in the hospital.
  8. Pharmacy
A pharmacy is available in the clinic for the patients' convenience open at the following times:

    Weekdays 08.00 - 18.00hrs
    Saturday 09.00 - 12.30hrs
    Sundays and public holidays 09.00 - 11.00hrs

A stock of essential medicines is kept available in the hospital for emergency use. Normally the patient would be given the first doses of the prescribed drugs and would be asked to return the next day during pharmacy hours to collect the balance of the prescription.

The pharmacy carries a wide range of medicines, but is not a fully-fledged chemist and may not always stock all the medicines required.

All drugs are charged separately and are not included in the clinic or hospital membership.
  9. If a patient arrives more than 10 minutes late for an appointment the appointment time becomes invalid.

NB: The Board of Directors is still in the process of deciding whether specified lab tests, X-ray procedures or any other specialised test will incur extra charges.
