Services NOT Covered by Clinic Membership
- 1st 2 Weeks of Membership
During the first two weeks of clinic membership, ONLY CONSULTATIONS plus a
few basic tests are covered - everything else is to be paid for.
- Pharmaceuticals
are charged separately.
- Medicals:
(i) Non-disease related medical examinations and any test related to such
medical examination, such as insurance, immigration and visa medicals. However
these can be done on request and clinic members pay the relevant charges.
(ii) Routine health checks, laboratory tests and X-rays carried out at the
patient's personal request are to be paid for and will be charged 100%.
(iii) Flying medicals will be charged for the first two years of clinic membership
after which they are covered.
# Charges are available on request.
- Vaccinations & Inoculations
Other than those included in the Under-5 Programme, e.g. Hepatitis A &
B, Rabies, Typhoid, Meningitis.
- Specialist's Fee
W hen a patient has a consultation with a specialist other than the surgeons,
paediatricians, gynaecologists, dermatologists, ophtalmologist, orthopaedic
or ENT specialist who routinely hold clinics at cfb, or when one of the above
specialists is called to see a patient outside of the routine session.
- Audiology
Is now available. The Audiologist can be seen by appointment and on advance
payment of the consultation fee.
- Treatment at other Medical Centre
If a patient undergoes any treatment or diagnostic procedure at any other
medical centre the cost must be met by the patient and is not covered by cfb
membership. This includes:
(a) in-patient treatment at any hospital, including cfb hospital, unless the
patient is a hospital member.
(b) all lab tests or specimens sent out to any other medical centre or laboratory
(eg. Pap smears, histopathology specimens, special lab tests etc.). In this
case the patient will be charged the courier fee if, appropriate, plus the
cost of the test.
- Members of less than 3 Years
Members of less than three years duration, who have a chronic illness diagnosed
somewhere other that cfb Medical Centre (eg South Africa), and are given a
list of tests by the diagnosing doctor to be done on a regular basis to monitor
the treatment & progress of the disease, will have to pay for these tests.
- Dental Treatment
